Mentoring: the missing link for high-achieving students
Posted by Ryan DeVito on 26 March 2018
Do you have a mentor, someone who inspires and develops your interests? If not, you could be missing out on a relationship that will increase your success.
Many students know what a mentor is, but they don't know how to find one. Elizabeth Dankoski created a list of steps for fostering a "powerful mentorship." It all starts with self-reflection, knowing what your like and what you want to accomplish. Only after some self-reflection can you find someone who can help you reach your goals. From there, it's a progression of both giving and taking: taking opportunities to learn, but giving your best effort and offering your skills. You can read the steps to a powerful mentorship here.
