No acceptance letters? No problem.

Rejection isn't final. Students who find themselves without any college acceptance letters should take heart: there are still options available, and you're in the driver's seat.
Read college counselor Nancy Griesemer's latest article here. Griesemer expertly explains that rejection doesn't have to be the end of the road, and she lays out many potential paths for the high school student to consider. Sometimes success can be as easy as getting a second opinion from an independent counselor. Students can also think about launching appeals to colleges or accepting wait list offers, though neither comes with any guarantee of admission. Community college could be a good way to stay on track with college plans, as could a gap year program. Students should also look into late applications: colleges nationwide often accept applications well into the summer, so an acceptance letter might still be within reach!
How has rejection inspired you to be proactive about your future? We would love to hear your comments below.
